ABOUT US

Egna Le Egna Origin Story

Egna le Egna was created by three young women and three men to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS as an anti-HIV/AIDS club in 1999. The anti-AIDS club was a care and support program helping affected people and bedridden patients when the disease was rampant and spreading at an alarming rate in Shashemene town. The organization then moved to the federal level, becoming a registered civil society organization in 2003. It has engaged in different programs that have benefited thousands of children, youth, and women for more than two decades.
