Temesgen Wario: -

Former Staff at Dexis Consulting Group, USAID - Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), Current Evaluator at USAID-Funded Headlight Consulting Group CLP. I testify for the Egna Le Egna Youth Health and Development Organization, which has served the Oromia region for over two decades. Founded during low HIV/AIDS awareness in Shashemene, the organization has become a beacon of hope, impacting many lives, especially youth. Since October 2022, as an Independent STTA Consultant with USAID/OTI ESP, I have monitored Egna Le Egna’s initiatives, which include over five grant-funded projects. Supported by USAID/ESP, the organization has implemented initiatives promoting peace and social cohesion in Oromia. These include High School Peace Actors, Safe Spaces for Youth Engagement, Youth Relationships to Mitigate Tensions, and Libraries for Social Cohesion. These efforts have addressed social challenges and fostered collaboration among youth associations in Shashemene. I endorse Egna Le Egna Youth Health and Development Organization for its dedication to community development and peacebuilding. Their work inspires hope and resilience among the youth of Oromia, making them one of the most capable NGOs in our region.

Egna Legna Youth Health and Development Organization is a distinguished non-profit entity established to confront the myriad challenges confronting children, youth, and women within Shashemene City. It functions as an indispensable support network for these vulnerable groups, extending its benevolence not only throughout the city but also across the nation. Supporting this organization equates to championing the welfare of children, youth, and women on a national scale. Let us unite in our efforts to ensure the flourishing of this vital organization.

Nuredin Tesso, Board of Directors

Board of Directors of Egna Le Egna Youth Health and Development Organization. I have known Egna Le Egna for five years and served as a board member last year. Over two decades, I have observed the organization's programming. As a Board member, I have reviewed reports, seen new projects start, and endorsed documents as authorized. Year after year, the organization has diversified its programs, benefiting thousands of children, youth, and women. A transformative initiative was the USAID peace project and the youth center renovation, introducing diverse programming to the community. The organization is women-led and women-focused, enhancing the lives of many young women and girls in sexual and reproductive health, HIV awareness, and family planning, improving their knowledge and economic prospects. I am grateful to Egna Le Egna and its dedicated team for their impactful journey over the last twenty years and support the organization’s future successes.
